Dont you mean a heavier mainspring, a heavier valve spring would lower the velocity.

You right. At least for the gun that is shooting slow, but I can't help but think that there is something else wrong that we haven't identified.

The stock main spring should deliver velocities at or slightly above 300 FPS with the TPC turned all the way in. Only when it was unusually hot and the CO2 was at an unusually high pressure have I had it give me problems.

For the other gun that you mentioned that was shooting hot, a heavier valve spring would solve that.
