Saw this in a picture thread.

Does anyone have a picture of the other side? Know how it works? Who made it?

In the same thread (I think) was a pic of it from behind. there are two 90* elbows off the back of the valve so that teh 12's run along side the body of the gun.  IIRC the lever changer is from an old PT extreme.

I think you're right. I just can't remember which thread. I'll go check all the ones I might have gotten it from. SCP seems to come to mind for some reason.

Edit: Haha! I found it. Turns out it belongs to thkyle. Here is the other pic.

Any chance we could see some updated pics?

Those are actually two different pistol projects.

The first one is in a box in pieces. I really didn't like the lever action changer and reverted to the vertical set up.

The second one in the holster I still have and use. It has changed a little since then though. I replaced the 1st generation Traccer back bottle valve with a CCI valve I bobbed myself. I call it a "Sponge Bobbed Valve!" That because I tried to cut it flush with the back of the trigger frame. Thought it would look better that way, and it does. Unfortunately, to tap the threads for the air fitting, it cut into the thumb screw location. It works, but I have to wrap Teflon tape on the thumb screw or it will leak a little..............thus it's called "Sponge Bobbed" by Patrick Customs!  Grin

Those Traccer valves are close in volume to a bobbed valve stock, but you can't find a supplier with them anymore.

Someday.........Huh??.........I will finish the evolving pistol project.

The third model was the Quetzal. Part Phantom, and part Nelspot.

Closer to what I was looking for, but I had to cut down the CCI body and use the heavy steel valve from a Nelspot. I also had to cut a slot for the pump arm. Easy enough to do, and the Phantom bolt already has a perfect place to attach the pump arm where the nylon set screw is. There are some things I could do to eliminate the "binding" that results in that valve design when you gas it up, but decided to give it a little more thought.

The fourth, and hopefully final, version will be similar to the above but with a bobbed CCI valve. I will need to put a pierce pin threaded into the side of the valve like the Nelspot 007 valve, but it all will still slide into the main body. A much better design over the Nelspot valve.

It will also need a custom spacer and mounting block for the pump rod and to mount a Nelspot trigger frame with a cam-lock knob like the Quetzal above has.

With just those two changes, I can still have all of the options available to Phantom. It will be lighter. And I can have the 12 gram inside of the pistol grip. Something I've wanted for a long time.

If it works and I'm satisfied with it's performance I'll make a matching set of a pump handle, slotted battle grips, feed block with light pipe sights and spare 12 gram space extended in the front of the block, out of some exotic wood. I also want a Freak bored barrel cut just as short as possible.

I would also like to fine tune the valve volume, open the power tube ports, and spring it to get around 50 shots per 12'r at 275-280.

That's the plan anyway............. :Smiley

Looks like a great plan. I hope it works out well, and that you keep us updated on this fun project of yours. Thanks.

Thanks. My biggest problem with all of this is that I don't have any metal working tools. The closest thing that I have is a $100 bench top drill press, and that isn't exactly a mill! So it takes a lot of slow careful work, and I will need to make a few jigs to be able to clamp things down well so they don't move on me.

I figure the worst of it will be to drill the location and proper angle of the pierce pin in the CCI valve. There also isn't as much meat on that part of the valve as there is on a Nelspot valve. And if that's not bad enough, I am going to need to make up the extra space for the CCI pin to reach the 12 gram in the grip.

I could out-source that part, but I like to make stuff, so I can take credit for it too!
