I'm looking to get a phantom and I was wondering which to get. I wanted a stock class but I would probably want to convert it to constant air so I wasn't sure if the vsc would be easier(and cheaper) to change over or the sc. I was leaning to the sc but I was not sure if the feed tube would interfer w/ the co2 tank if I took the 12g changer out or even if it could take the co2 tank without the 12g changer.
Thanks
p.s sorry I know my question is probably a tab lengthy Wink

Most phantom set ups can easily be converted to constant air.  With a VSC you can simply put a 3.5 oz tank where the bucket changer is, or if you want to get more creative run a bottom line to a bulk tank and get an adapter to the vertical ASA.  Back bottles can be converted the same way.  The only ones that take creativity are the drop out changer because you need to get a dummy 12gram and air fitting to hook it up to a bottom line.  Typically it's all about preference.

I believe there is also a problem if you try and run the bottle directly off the back of the marker.  I believe the feed tube does not allow enough clearance for the bust disc when screwing in the tank.  This is easy enough to get around though by either running a bottomline or screwing in the feed after the tank.

Someone Please correct me if I am remembering this incorrectly.

The back bottle design is angled downward to prevent just that from happening.  Actually you could easily put a 9 oz bottle on it with a shoulder stock and use it just like that.
The first 2 markers have that type of air set up.

Ok so either I was wrong entirely or I was thinking of somethign else.  Could have been a bottle with a on off or maybe even another gun entirely that I was thinking of.  Sorry for the misinformation.

No, you're right. I always had to loosen my feed tube to screw my tanks in. I had one tank where the on/off knob lined up completely veritcle so I could never use it with my backbottle valve.

Ok so there you go if it's a pin valve tank your all set if it's a tank with an on off you need to be creative about it, run a bottom line or something.

Some pin valves are longer than others, so depending on your valve the tank may or may not fit.
