Is there any reason not to use macroline in place of the hardline? I would like to make a change but I am unable to get the hardline off the asa.

I'd keep the hardline on unless you're going to run a bottomline. And to get it off use a wrench.

Thanks but a wrench will not budge it.

A wrench and muscles?

J/K bud. It should just be screwed on, unless some foolish person loctited it.

I run macro on my phantom, because my hardline used microline fittings and it started to leak. Easier to swap in macro fittings than get the compression fittings from CCI. No problems with macroline yet.

if you have compression fittings on your hardline, there is no reason to switch.

The reason I need to switch is I bought an undercocking kit which comes with a new asa to attatch to the trigger guard with a rod for the pump arm. I am unable to get the hardline fitting to unscrew from the asa. I am guessing someone used loctite on it as it will not budge.

PUll every piece of rubber off the asa/fitting. Heat it gently to loosen up the loctite, and then give it a try, you should be able to pull off the fitting then.

basically, what everyone else said haha i took mine off last night, and it was in there effing hard and i had to get someone else to hold my phantom while i turned the wrench. it took a little bit but it eventually gave. careful not to scratch your asa if you go the brute force route haha

Personally I prefer microline to macroline.  The ID is closer to the ID of hardline so I can still run 12 grams effectively.

The engineer in me says to use the hardline, as both the fittings and tubing are actually rated for the pressure.

The lazy SOB in me says use microline, since it's easy to pop out of the fittings.
