Ive tryed a few difrent dtents and have found that the longer the detent the biger posibilit for acuricy flaws... I used a python kit wich must have bin mised in QC ( nothing agenst the python kits thay are good for what thay are just this one had a bad insert) one of the inserts had ridges more so on one side (not noticible till you used a flashlight down one end to cast a shadow) and it would alwase send the ball flying in the direction of the ridges  i still use detent rings and have never seen an acuricy drop with them only a concistincy gain

All the revews ive seen with the nib stile detends or the O ring stile detents dont make any coment about accuricy loss wich further suports my persinal findings but again this is just my $0.02

Hope that helps

Detents won't put any spin on the ball - the engagement of the detents is too far back to matter.  Note that almost all the methods used to purposefully impart spin on a ball don't bother trying to work right at the breech - you need to let the ball get up to a decent velocity before you can impart any meaningful spin to it.
