"After over a year in development, GrimmWorks Designs is pleased to announce "The Hydra" double barrel, pump paintball marker Kit. The Hydra has completed the prototype phase and is ready to go into production. Watch for a late spring/ early summer release.

The modular design allows for the mounting of any Phantom feed configuration coupled with the Autococker hinge frame of your choice.

Design also boasts a 2-stage trigger system, allowing both barrels to be fired individually."

This is an idea I'v been tossing around for quite some time, and i finally started designing and prototyping last winter. My goal here was to offer an affordable drop-in kit giving people acces to a double barrel marker, who might not otherwise have the opportunity to own one.

Initally the kit will include the rail, pump kit and trigger assembly. one piece gang valves will follow shortly afterwards. Down the road a little bit I plan on dual spring feeds with the eventuallity of a body kit to complete the marker.

I havn't worked out the final price point yet, I should have a better idea of the final manufacturing costs over the next couple weeks; then i will be able to release more details.

The prototype in the picture is my personal marker, the production models will look much different. Cheesy

The milling on this one was a bit of an homage to some of Brad Nestle's work from back in the day. The red/gold splased parts are off my Nestle Phantom. The airsmiths of old were a pretty big contributing factor in my decicion to become a machinist, figured it was the least i could do Wink

Notice the milling on the trigger assembly

later

neat! a suggestion, though: make the pump handle CCM compatible, that would allow players to get different colors and styles...

That was my plan, this was a pump handle I made for a different marker, and I just used it for the prototype for the sake of simplicity. The milling on the production rails will be a little more subdued aswell.

I LOVE IT!
I'd prefer a less-gothic milling tho. Would it work with any cocker frame?
I'd make a dual SC phantom Cheesy
again, this is sick and I'd love one! Hope I can afford it Smiley

i've been intrigued by the idea since i first saw Ken's Ditto Dueces, but could never afford it... this, though... it allows people to buy it a bit at a time and not take one major hit to the wallet...

As promised, here are some pics with SC feeds and a CCM frame. The prototype was machined with offset breaches in mind, as such you can't fit 2 standard SC breaches on it; the production model will have added spacing to allow you to use this configuration, without adding much width to the overall stance.

Here's a shot of what a back bottle valve looks like

And a dropout valve

And wait... is that a brass dummy in there Huh?
Cheesy

I have the material for the rails in and cut to length. I'v made the design changes I wanted to the rail and I'm in the process of programming them up for the mill. After I get those run off, I'll work on the pump kit ( think I'm going for a complete re-design on them)
