Does anyone know/remember why it is that Mike changed to the shorter power tube and the sear design that he uses now?

My guess is to make room for the TPC.

Thats what I figured talking with Have Blue after I started this thread here.  When the TPC was developed I'd guess that something had to give, either the power tube or hammer and look like the power tubes were a easier or cheaper way to go.

Any ideas about the sear though?  Better for autotriggering maybe or a slightly redesigned trigger?

I don't know the history of the sear design, but I doubt that it's by accident that the bolt is closed right when the sear trips. That's not the case with a Nelspot.

There were a lot of other pumps like the Bushmster and a whole bunch of models with wintec frames that were capable of AT popular at the same time the Phantom first came out. On the wintec frame, the safety could lock the trigger back (sliders), so all you had to do is pump away. It would make perfect sense to want to compete with those guns when tournaments were becoming popular. Of course AT is not all that usefull on a stock class rig.

Then came the semis.....................and the beginning of the end.

I figured the sear was an AT thing.

I've just been looking at a lot of parts lately and thinking to myself "why that way?"
