... I just couldn't resist selling this:

And getting this in it's stead:

But my first SC gun will always be my Phantom, so I guess I can still be a PHOG member and not feel guilty Grin

Since we are doing confessions here... I've only played with my Phantom once since getting my Gargoyle.

Poor Phantom others have used it though so that makes it a little better.

I always liked the Lapco guns in theory, although my experience has always been with the vintage ones and not the new version.  However, I always had to to adjust something on them all the time.  They were not as prissy as Carters, but close.  The phantom was one where I could pretty much always pick up and shoot it, with everything as I had left it previously.  The new Lapco looks nice, but I'm not sure you got the better end of the deal long term.  Enjoy it though!  Cool

Will the feedblock and feed tube fit on a Phantom?

Hey, if you're parting this thing out I was wondering if the trigger frame and grip would bolt on to a Phantom. I'm thinkin' Dremel a groove down the right side for the pump rod........... >Cheesy >Cheesy

Feed-block/tube and ball gates are to CCI specifications, but you won't be able to use the ball detent on the Phantom...

Actually, the 12ie bucket IS a CCI changer.

Well, considering that I sold the Phantom for $230, and payed $250 for the Ghost that also came with about 23 tubes and 2 4oz tanks with on/off valves, I think I got a good deal.

I can probably turn around and sell the Ghost for $300 right now.

Yeah, my Phantom was always shooting pretty consistantly, but in terms of feel I think the Ghost blows it out of the water.  Every Phantom I shot with a standard pump kit and the stock return spring felt kind of grindy and stiff.  With work they smoothed out, but it is pale by comparison.  The Ghost pumps so much easier.
Also, I love the slider trigger.  The Phantom triggers were always pretty snappy, which is nice, but it is great not needing a shoe and having a nice, smooth, silky trigger pull.

Phantoms are great, but they really are kind of base model SC guns.  Get some internal swaps, put some work into the pump stroke (new kit, or just tuning with springs, fit, and lube), get a metal feed-block, detent mod it and you can have a gun that performs just as well.  However, it may be more expensive.
Plus the Ghost just uses Spyder barrels...  not that you'd need to change from the stock .687 barrel.

The Carters are nice, but they really aren't my style and are usually out of my price range.

For the cost and the quality/performance, I think the Ghost has extremely good value.

OOOOOOHHHH!! You got a pink marker!!! Pink markers are for girls! Nanner,  Nanner, you have a girl marker! I personally, will just shtick with the phantom when I get it, because otherwise stuff gets too complicated. Unless someone wants to get me an AT85 for free, that it is Wink.

Well, selling your phantoms theoretically means that new Phantom players are being added. Which means the phantom fan base is being expanded!

Well I can forgive you, but only because my set of Gargoyle lowers came in the mail yesterday. Which by the way feel awesome, I love that grip (I took it out of the box, held it and thought "I might have to order another one"), and work ok (from dry firing the trigger pull is a bit heavier, but I figure it will work itself in shortly). I'll be getting some play time in on the weekend.

Of course now I can build a third Phantom out of parts (well I need a hammer, bolt and valve), which will be one too many.
