I don't see the industry standard changing to .50. It just to big of a change. The big name companys would have to remake all there old markers or get to work putting out a hole new line of .50 markers, and or a converson kit for the markers that are already out. This could cause a lot of player to just stop playen because they just don't have the money to upgrade. I know that crew and can only play when we have some spare cash to get paint. So thats just my input on the subject.

Nitro- After my brain stopped bleeding from reading your post, I figured I'd help lay down some basic physics. In order to reach the same distance with a smaller paintball you have three choices; up the velocity, increase the density or a combination of the two. As for the pressure, due to the spherical nature of paint, the solid impact pressure would be the same (equal energy at a single point) but the fluid pressure would be a bit higher.

In a nutshell: Don't HAVE to turn up the velocity, and dense .50 paint will probably "hurt" more.

Just wondering if the Gardner's have patented everything relating to gun specs capable of using 50cal. paint yet? Or has someone else already done it?

I heard from a local team member from XSV that the velocity was at 350 at the on field testing and shooting at the cup and so far only one company will be making the paint.Yes ego has made a kit but are kinda taking their time with release.
