hey guys

thought i'd show off my current project!

I took my old beater 98 custom (got it FREE in a trade...)
and decided to make it a bit more up to date!

so here is the current pic progression!

Before:

Day 1:
so far:
stripped
internals polished
spyder feedneck marked up (used tape to hold for pic)
vert air moved (need to shorten all fittings)
scheming for milling (red sharpie)

then i cut off the front nub, and moved the vert air

next:
top cocking
cut off most of sight rail

Tomorrow:
fill right feed hole
fill original cocking spot
white powder coat

I have new white/black/red empire grips, new vert air asa, velocity springs, new clamping feedneck, and asa all ordered!

Eventually i need to get, a fang trigger, possibly eframe, new reg and maybe a shorter barrel!

Whatcha think?

I've thought about doing some of these mods to one of the 98's I have. Especially the vert air placement, and the vert feed.

Do you have any pics of the other side? I'm curious how you are covering up the hole from the original feed hole.

Yeah I want to see too. I'm trying to do something like that to my A5. Instead of having the "swollen log" of a hopper Shocked

i havent taken any pics of the otherside because i havnt filled the hole in yet Tongue

i worked on it more today, and will update the pics once i get it cleaned and assembled

i was on model98.org and they were saying use "alumaloy" but the master machinist at work says that stuff is terrible and not worth the effort.

he's always a negative nancy so ima try anyway i think  Cool

Friend of mine did the whole Tippman Factory upgrades. He also put in an aftermarket board. It worked fine for awhile then it basically beat itself apart. he was a hoser with the thing and the clam shells worked themselves apart by up to .050" it was crazy it just sits on the shelf now as it's barely usable
