I'd like to try the Diet Coke trick for removing rust on my Pro/Carbine's screws - good idea or bad idea?  Is the phosphoric acid in the Coke going to remove the bluing on the screws as well?

ive used it to remove the rust off off of bumpers and my bikes pipes works grate when u use steal wool with it  in a pinch ive also used a ball of aluminum foil  as for taking more the rust off of what ever it is ur using it on i dont know
