My Trracer is shooting pretty slow, even with the adjustable bolt turned all the way in.  Will the Phantom main springs work with the Trracer?

i tried a phantom spring on my maverick and it fit length wise but a little small on the roundness of the spring, but seamed to work fine. Smiley

I just found out that Phantom valve bodies are compatible with Trracers, which inspired me to make this:

I tried it out and it shoots very well, except the dropout changer has a minor leak right at the puncture needle... hopefully that's due to the Brass Eagle CO2 cartridges I was using with it and not something wrong with the dropout itself.

And oh, I lashed the marker to the stock so I could quickly go back to the Trracer's normal configuration (I didn't make any significant alterations to the marker itself).  Cocking with the pump arm bolts is really going to kill the fingers after a while, so I doubt I'll play many games with this setup - unless I somehow make a pump for it Smiley

Nice!

There might be a very slight difference. I've used old Traccer valves on Phantoms a lot and on some I had to add very thin (.006 maybe) shim between the hammer and the power tube.

apoc... WOW man that looks amazing as for the cocking problem y not just use a longer bolt or a threaded bar with a small handle on the end to give it a bolt action look / feel?

I was thinking that, but apparently only cocking one side adds excessive wear/causes the bolt to kink?  The stock I used was a 10/22 stock, so there's actually a decent amount of space right in front of the pump arm bolt area, so I'm considering using two L-shaped brackets to mount a cocking trigger on the underside of the stock.  But like I said, it's not really practical, so we'll see if I get around to it... and I already traded the dropout changer that was on it  Tongue

what about making a Y bracket that grabed both arms and brought them both back to a single point that then had a working bolt action?

i can see it in my head its hard to explane so ill try to text draw it

That would work, but the only thing I don't like about it is that there might not be enough clearance for the sight rail now that I'm using a backbottle adapter rather than the quick changer.  I probably would just style the bolt similarly to the original pump, with two horizontal pull arms along the side of the body, and maybe a copper tube with a section removed to accommodate the trigger frame on the bottom.  Then somehow mount a bolt-like thing on one side of the copper tube  Huh?  Welding is a little beyond me, though.  I'm more of a dremel/epoxy/bondo kinda guy.

We'll see what happens; I have a 45 grip on the way for the Trracer (thanks Kevin!) and I'll probably use it with the a bottomlined tank to get more of a full rifle feel; my Phantom is being converted into short, 8" barrel vert air bucket/3.5 oz close quarters marker Smiley
