Does a heavier valve spring generally lead to better consistency?

If you bought the CCI spring kit and your velocity is within the range of your TPC then chaqnging the springs shouldnt do you any good.  I guess you can call them "seasonal" springs if you use CO2.  If its cold/low co2 pressures, you can use the red mainspring to bring the velocity up.  The blue spring is to keep velocity down when you have high CO2 pressures like on a hot day.

A heavier valve spring won't necessarily give you better consistency but it can give you better efficiency (valve is open for shorter period). But in the case of efficiency you'd have to play around with both the valve and main spring to assure you are hitting the proper fps but additional shots might not even be of any significance.

I put a red neslon valve spring in today, and got a noticable improvement in shot to shot consistency over the chrono.  Im still able to get up to velocity with a blue mainspring, but the TPC is almost maxxed out.  The cool part is the the valve spring is strong enough to let me recock it without air.

a heavy valve spring with a comboe'd light main spring will give you better efficency by 10ish shots, i think it's very worth it

vids from Carter brown to prove it

Pulled 54 goods shots with 60 total out of a 12 gram today off my stock class phantom, stock valve spring with ~3/8" long delrin washer in the valve and a blue main spring, 65degrees. Only got velocity for first two shots at 269/273... Im excited granted I've never had more then 45 shots off a 12 on this particular set up.
