I have a 6" a 14" CCI stock and a 12 J&J over all I prefer the 12" J&J due to the accuracy and quietness. However I did play a lot with the 14" and have a 16" with my Tippmann and the only complaint I have is manuvering through the brush and trees for quick shots. For the range and accuracy I find the 14" to be the best.

I have both the 11 and 14, the 14 offers an extra distance of 3 inches.  All other things being equal, ball traveling at 280fps when it comes out of the barrel is going to travel the same distance no matter the length of the barrel.  It does give you more barrel to aim down though and that could affect your accuracy a little by making it easier to aim the gun.  Glenn Palmer said that his company researched it and the best length barrel, in terms of efficency, for a paitnball gun running on CO2 is 11 inches.

All of that being said I find my 14 to be a little long but it looks great on the gun it's on so it stays.

Tom Kaye was actually the first to arrive at the 11" figure as far as I know.  Did Glenn also do this testing?  I wasn't aware that he had.

I have a 14 and I like it for it's ease of pointing. Since I have a RF breech I am able to use the whole top tube and my L stock for pointing, and it's great for me. I guess my biggest complaint is not being able to use the velocity adjuster rod, since I have to unscrew the barrel every time.

I don't think there is much of a difference in terms of efficiency or noise. Might be a little quieter, but that is not an issue at all. Also, the 11 is notably more compact, but I play woodsball so it's not a hindrance much.

So my biggest complaint is not being able to use the rod. I'd be really happy if mike was able to make/find a rod that is long enough for the 14.

If I remember correctly Thats what he said, it was at Castle, and after we were done playing though so there is no garentee that I was sober and that sometimes affects my already bad memory.  I know there was a group of us there talking about barrels with Glenn and I know he said that 11" was best beyond that I can't say diffinitively how he said he came that.

That being said Glenn and Tom both have put a lot more work, effort and time into this stuff than me so 11 sounds good to me.

Hm, all the rods I get are long enough for the 14", which I prefer to use with my open class Phantom btw.

Did you buy yours used? Maybe so cut it?!
