To charge royalties, Mike would have to increase the cost of the bodies - he hasn't raised his prices in years, and I'd be kinda bummed were I the one to cause a price bump.  At any rate, the mod is still pretty new, and Mike is pretty picky about what he adds to the guns - would have to prove itself in the field for longer than the few short months it's been available, I think.

Plus, who knows - MC could have an even better system up his sleeve!

Plus, what would Mike do with the bins full of rings that he ships with each new gun? Plus he would have to work another machining step to the production.

I think that both side win this way. HB gets the few that want the mod. Mike gets the benefits that come to his business because their is another custom option available if someone buys a Phantom.

It's a win win situation. Not everyone is going to want the orings and will be satisfied with the CCI dentents (which were big excitement just a few years ago when they first came out.)

Mike doesn't have to raise the price of the gun, HB gets a little business. The o-ring mod is something that most people can afford if they want it. Frankly the CCI rings work just fine, just a little inconvenient and easy to lose.

They should work even better with the smaller ID barrels. My old stock CCI barrels mic at .689 now anyway.

wait a minute, when you said you lost the rings for the 3rd or 4th time, were you refering to o-rings for the detent mod or the cci detent rings?

And yeah im aware that the tapering keeps the o-rings held in... it makes a lot more sense to me now... assuming you were talking about the detent rings and not the orings.

I wouldn't mind royalties - get paid for not doing anything!

I haven't actually heard of people losing the o-rings via shooting - people have been losing them while taking the gun apart and forgetting that they're there, however (not to worry, just run to Home Depot). Piece of scotch tape over the rings would probably take care of that.

You could put a sticker on the barrel........

..........CAUTION!! dentent ring inside.

Then you would remember not to dump it on the ground then you removed the barrel. Grin
