Is the CCI ghost ring supposed to be mountable to the standard sight rails?  I dont see why the valve body rails should be any different than the SC rail.

Don't think they are. Both should be for a 3/8" clamp. There are some of the feed blocks that have both the 3/8" and the 7/8" grooves cut in them, but the top set is 3/8".

The ghost ring barely catchs the grooves on the asa rail.

Maybe i just get the 5in rail and permenently mount it.  Then i can move the sight father and get a smaller view Smiley

There might be a secondary benefit to the 5" rail also......

I have a 5" rail on one of mine and it has the smoothest stroke of all the Phantoms we have around here. I think that it's because it helps to keep the valve aligned better with the main body and thus the internals are centered better than on the other gun. This makes a big difference in Nelsons, and is usually the reason that a Nelspot often has such a stiff pump stroke.

A Phantom doesn't have as much play between the valve and body as a Nelspot, but still the better the internals are centered, the better the pump stroke will be.
