A two day pump event in September (13th & 14th). I just found out about this event and am planning on going. But I was wondering if anyone else was going?

Ed... Do you know if they have camping around there? Or what do you guys do for sleeping arrangements?

We usually sleep at the field. I've even been invited to sleep in the "Canadian Embassy" there by Ambassador Cliff......

There's a lot of space at the field to set up a tent or camper.  Be warned there's no electricity or running water though.

I wish I would have heard about this sooner.  I would have loved to go, but that weekend is a definite no-go.  Sounds like it's an annual event perhaps?

Well, this was a bust for Gumby and myself. Drove out on Friday, in and out of rain. Got there, set up and waited for the rest to show. Around midnight, the sky opened up and didn't stop the spill till around 8 or 9 Saturday morning. I had a small pool in my tent and there was over 4 inches in the field rain gauge. There was standing water in our staging area, just over your feet in the spongy ground. Gumby had a call from his wife due to her pregnancy the night before which took most of the wind from his sales. All good in the pregnancy issue, just the fact that the call came when it did. We packed up early and hit the road just before noon. Rain in and out all the way back. Plus, so much rain, it closed 94 on the way back. A few stayed back to play, but from what it sounds like, the games didn't last very long before all left.
If anyone has more info on this, post up.
feel bad to drive 7 hours there and not to play to drive 7 hours back. I think it was a better for us to not play, as I hate getting all soaked and then to drive home for 7 hours and get the chills.....

It did suck with the rain. People waking up wet, to soaking wet equipment or to standing rain in their tents... Makes me glad I sleep in the back of my truck.

During the 5 hour rain break we had, there were 24 players to take the field. Suprisingly, the field was not just a big mud hole, it was actually very playable and fairly dry for all the rain we got. We managed to get in two long capture the flag games, with constant reinsertion. So whoever took out the most paint and air won the game... Luckily I managed to be on the winning side both times; even though Ed tried to stack the teams against us...  Grin But I really like the field (from what I got to see of it) and I will be going back again just to play it some more.

The first game the yellow team actually took our flag first, but the guys who grabbed it were slower than our runner, who took the yellow flag a few minutes later. So both teams were running the other teams flag back to their base at the same time. We were just luckier to have quicker legs...

And the second game, we had the yellow team pushed back to their base for most of the game. Which made play hard, because all they had to do, once shot out, was go back and tag their base and they were back in play. So we were just giving them all the flag cover that they needed. When I finally ran out of air, the entire yellow team was within 20 yards of the yellow flag and there was no way we where going to get a runner in there. But I guess, I wasn't the only one who ran out of air and or paint; because we managed to take their flag and win the game.

Dispite the rain, it was great to get to see a lot of you guys again and get out on the field with or against you.

Yeah, it was funny... I see 16+ guys go heading off with yellow tape on, as I am standing there with 5 or 6 players on my team. It would have ended up being all of Damage and KPCS plus a couple others against us; man that would have been a quick game.

Was funny to see Cliffy's face too.
So, we left close to noon, what time did everyone bail then? Sounded like not much after noon.....

You ended up leaving after the first game, but we played another game after that.

The Damage guys packed up the main tent around 4:30 or 5. Because I started packing after that and finished around 6. Man, packing is bad enough; but packing wet crap is even worse.
