"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?"

« on: December 21, 2007, 02:41:39 pm »

I remember back a couple of years, Matt at Mad Customs and The Punisher posted their fix for the PGP2 bolt. I was wondering if anyone had that or knew where to find it. Was on the lines fo disassembly of the bolt, drilling a hole in the center tapping out the rod for the BBs. Would like the actual article if possible.

This is all that I did to mine.......

1. drilled a hole.
2. tap some threads.
3. screwed in a pan head screw.

Works fine. Stopped blowing up paint.

Now does the scre move, or is it permanent? The one Lee did the screw move back when you cock the marker, then extends enough to push the ball forward. I am considering turning a new bolt from delrin

Nope, it's stationary. Centered in the end of the bolt. It clears fine to let the next ball drop. Got to be about the most simple mod I've ever done, for the greatest return.

If you're going to make your own bolt, then you might want to include a small round bump on the end of it. I would think that it would accomplish the same thing as the screw. All it needs to do is push the ball just a little more past the valve port. I don't think I've broken a ball since I put it in there.

Had a bit more thought to it. Was going to make a "port" in a longer bolt similar to the PMI-1. May lengthen the stroke a bit, but will see.

Nope, I'd be right there with you.  Mine's a PGP2k1 as well so it's doubly surprising.  Never once have I blown one up.  It has only chopped once I think and obviously that's my fault not it's.
