I want a Redux really bad.  I don't want to sell anything I have right now, and I probably shouldn't spend the money.  But, that doesn't mean I won't spend the money.  Somebody talk me out of buying a Redux.

You looking for support from this crowd? Cheesy  If we're your last hope then you're pretty much owning one before weeks end. Wink

I wouldn't really mind owning one before the week ends, but they're not just giving them away, either.  My choices are:

a) sell a Phantom and put the money toward the Redux (cuts down the acutal cost to me).

b) just buy a Redux (one more gun for me, but at a greater cost).

c) not buy a Redux (keep my Phantoms and my money).

It's quite a dilemma, and I'm capable of talking myself in and out of all the choices listed above.  My hope was that an appeal to the community would make the decision-making process a little easier, though perhaps my hopes were a little too high.     Tongue

The website says:

1st 20: Special IntroDUCKtory price of $599

Standard Redux: $699

Redux with custom features:  $???  Varies based on what you want to have on it.

Well if what is keeping you from buying one is the fact that you have to sell a phantom then I'd say wait.  The marker market is flooded so unless you have something truly exceptional OR are going to list it bargain basement to just get quick $$ then I would say don't do it.  I'd love to sell both of my black magic snipers but I know I'll never get near what they are actually worth if I do it now.  Plus, it's a bad time of year to sell...wait for tax return season! Just wait, Rolondo will buy one, takes some pictures than turn around and sell it a week later, just offer him 10% less what he originally paid for it.

Ah, the voice of reason at last.    Grin   I probably won't get one of the first 20, and hold out for a more custom piece.  The notion of a custom Redux is rather amusing to me.

Let's examine the merits of each of your choices............

a) sell a Phantom and put the money toward the Redux (cuts down the actual cost to me).

Look, you're a long time member of the PHOG in good standing, but really a person should be banned and their name placed in stocks in the banned section to let the rest of the members chuck rotten verbal and text tomatoes at for even thinking about SELLING A PHANTOM!! ........But seeing that it's you and it's to get another gun, we're going to over look it this time. Temporary insanity or something.

c) not buy a Redux (keep my Phantoms and my money).

What do you do with food? You eat it. That's what it's for. What do you do with a Guinness, or and ICB? You drink them of course. So what do you think that you're supposed to do with money? DUH, you spend it!! That's what it's made for!!

You might as well have your pockets full of rocks, cause money is about as useless as rocks just taking up space in your pockets. Sure you could try to roll it into a tube and blow paint through it. But it won't work near as well or impress your friends near as much as shiny new Redux will.

b) just buy a Redux .......... This is obviously your only choice here.

Now aren't you glad that you have such a great bunch of caring friends, that can help you make the right choices in life?

Well, I'll begin my defense by saying that selling the Phantom is to buy a new gun.  And, I'll add that the Redux actually uses Phantom internals.

I don't have any problem agreeing that you eat food or drink guiness/ibc.  The problem is that the same money used to buy paintball guns buys other things too.  Things like gas, food, and textbooks, to name a few.

I'm definitely going to end up with a Redux at some point.  I'll probably just end up waiting until I can order one built to my specifications (and when I've been able to accumulate a little more money).

Now you're talking! Grin

Stop eating. Stop driving, and quit school. You'll have that Redux in no time at all.

Ramen is here on this planet for a reason.

And what good is keeping money? The value keeps going down. And you know you'll spend it on impulse purchases at Spencer Gifts any ways. Invest that capital on a lucrative return. The Redux!
